Mutitjulu

Mutitjulu is a community located in the south-west of the Northern Territory. It is 467km by road from Alice Springs and 24km from Yulara. The population fluctuates but is estimated at about 350. The main language is Pitjantjatjara although Luritja and Yankunyjatjara are also spoken. The community is accessible by road all year round, and is located within the boundaries of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. There is a general store, football oval, health and community agencies, a large aged care facility, and a church. The community footy team is the Mutitjulu Cats.

Secondary students from Mutitjulu travel by bus each day to the central campus of Nyangatjatjara College, just outside Yulara. Yulara is a tourist resort town owned by the Indigenous Land Corporation and has a supermarket, post office, cafes and restaurants as well as extensive accommodation. It is served by an airport that has regular Qantas, QantasLink and Virgin flights to Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns and Alice Springs.
