Each week, we visitedYulara Pulka. We collected animals from the waterhole and watched the changes every week as the level of the waterhole decreased until it became a mud patch with no water. Central Land Council lent us a camera that recorded all the animals that visited the waterhole over a week. The ladies from Aged Care told us about staying atYulara Pulka in the old times, Reggie Uluru showed us how to use the grasses to make cups to drink from, and Sandra Armstrong came along to talk about the weather. In Term 2 the kungkas went on a camp to Umbiara. Barbara Tjikadu and Happy Reid showed us how to make damper the old way.We went out the collect the plants but found that they weren’t yet dry enough. In Term 3 we had lots of help from the Docker River rangers. First they came to Umbiara with us and we did tracking. Then we went on a camp to Puta Puta with the rangers and our AEWs.The seniors learnt about burning country and the juniors practised tracking. In Term 4 we all went toYulara Pulka, Umbiara and into the Park to collect data about what tracks, plants, animal poo, animal shelters and plants important to Anangu we could find. In class we wrote reports so that we can track the changes to our environment into next year. ! Learning
